DDN is a network that uses digital dedicated line of synchronous transmission network. It offers transparent end-to-end transmission in physical links China Netcom. DDN products offer three choices: local P2P, domestic long-distance P2P and International long-distance P2P.
- Local P2P: It offers end-to-end digital data circuit connection between any two local points.
- Domestic Long-Distance P2P: It offers end-to-end digital data circuit connection between any two points in China.
- International Long-Distance P2P: It offers end-to-end digital data circuit connection between any two trans-national or trans-regional points.

- High transmission rate. The DDN digital cross-connection multiplex equipment offers data transmission channel with the rate up to 2Mbps or NX64Kbps.

ATM network uses the asynchronous packet and time division multiplex mode to transfer data in fixed size cells. It can transmit data of different rates (usually above 512 kbps) and has circuits with different level of QoS guarantee. It is designed to efficiently support various types of traffic, including end-to-end voice, data, graphics, and multi-media communications and the connection between user end and data network (e.g. the Internet).
ATM PVPC (Permanent Virtual Path Connection) CBR (Constant Bit Rate) offers highest performance among all ATM services. It can guarantee data throughput and latency. Compared with dedicated line services, it is an economical alternative solution to support voice, video and data applications.
- Local PVPC-CBR: It provides two-point or multiple-point high-speed local connection, equivalent to high-speed and high quality local dedicated-line connection between two points or among multiple points.
- Domestic Long-Distance PVPC-CBR: It provides two-point or multiple-point high-speed long-distance connection, equivalent to high-speed and high quality dedicated-line connection between two points or among multiple points across cities or regions.
- ATM-VPN: It uses ATM technology to provide VPN services for difference branches of the enterprise.

| IP-VPN |
China Netcom's IP-VPN is a telecom service that adopts advanced technologies to create Virtual Private Network of an enterprise with Internet as the medium. There are three types of IP-based VPNs: MPLS-VPN, IP-VPDN and SVPN.
- MPLS-VPN is a service that adopts Multi-Protocol Label Switching technology to create an internal private network of an enterprise so as to channel communication of data, voice and image between different divisions of the enterprise.
- IP-VPDN is a dialing-based Virtual Private Network service. The user dials a telephone number to establish a virtual link with public network so as to access Internal data resources of an enterprise.
- SVPN Security VPN is built on X.25, frame relay or ATM networks. It enhances the function of a system from security perspective and focuses on the security of the VPN. IPSec VPN and SSL VPN are two typical types of SVPN.

- The service is targeted at large and medium-sized enterprises, especially those companies and organizations with frequent business activities, large data communication volume, high dependency on network and local branches, such as network company, IT company ,financial institutions, trade companies as well as news agencies.

Features and Strength
MPLS-VPN
- Powerful and flexible scalability. The network may be home to a number of VPNs and users in the same VPN can be easily extended.
- Easy network roll-out and maintenance. The router at the client is connected with the router at the local POP of the network operator rather than every location of the client network. VPN information is saved on the operator's router and managed by the operator. Therefore, the user does not have to maintain and manage the information by himself.
- Assured quality of service. Different classes of service ensure the quality of communication, accelerate packet transport rate, reduce jitter and latency, enhance network throughput and thus improve network quality.
- Integration of multiple services. To apply a single service of MPLS-VPN, the user will be able to enjoy data, voice, video and other services.
- Security and reliability. With the cutting edge technology of MPLS as the tunnel mechanism, transparent text transport is realized. MPLS's Label Switching Path (LSP) enjoys equivalent security as FR and ATM VCC.
- Support of existing network planning. MPLS-VPN does not have special requirement ob client equipment. Ordinary routers will be applicable. So the user can continue to use his own equipment. MPLS-VPN supports private address, so the user does not have to change their address planning scheme.
- Synchronous access to the Internet. With a bundled Internet access service, a physical circuit may access both VPN and the Internet simultaneously so that the user may enjoy an upscale bandwidth.
IP-VPDN
- VPDN service adopts L2TP protocol defined by the IETF as its tunnel protocol. The adoption of tunnel technology and the encryption of the data to be transported through the tunnel so that the data can only understood by designated senders and receivers, which enhances the confidentiality and security of the data.
- With VPDN,a private network may be created utilizing the Internet. Significant cost in equipment and dedicated line is saved. The user only needs to pay for the limited cost in local call and the Internet and dose not have to bear the cost brought about by the upgrading of technical equipment.
- The enterprise doe not need to set up its own private network maintenance system. System maintenance and upgrading will be transferred to professional service providers.
- Employees on business trips can still access enterprise information which ensures the mobility and easy access of the data.
SVPN
- Authenticity of the connection. The user's ID need to be authenticated.
- Boundary security of the connection, i.e. the authorization of legal users. The security of boundary data, i.e. the protection of the data. The usability of the boundary.
- The integrity of the connection, i.e. the integrity of the connection itself as well as that of the data in transport during the connection.
- Confidentiality of the connection. The process and existence of the connection is unknown to outsides. Even if they get to know them, they are not able to decode the data.
- Alarming function.
- Centralized management, i.e. the controllability to meet the demand of the user.
- The security of security equipment, e.g. anti-pry and heat-proof features. The security of operating platforms and system architecture.
